Albie Casiño was on cloud nine when he attended the story conference of his very first movie with Star Cinema which will also feature his Mara Clara co-stars Kathryn Bernardo and Julia Montes. The movie will be directed by Cathy Garcia Molina who helmed last year’s blockbuster hit My Amnesia Girl, which was top-billed by John Lloyd Cruz and Toni Gonzaga.
Albie, who was a relative unknown prior to being chosen to play one of the leading roles in the top-rating primetime teleserye Mara Clara, said in an interview following the story conference that he was overwhelmed that the success of the teleserye has led him to a movie under Star Cinema.
But the 17-year-old actor admitted that thinking about this movie project has given him the jitters.
The movie will also star AJ Perez who will play Julia’s leading man. Albie and AJ have been good friends for some time now. Parang two birds with one stone kasi this is my first movie and first time to work with him.”
Speaking of the success of Mara Clara, Albie also shared his thoughts on the online video of a little Filipina girl who cried in front of the TV after watching the character of Mara reportedly die in the teleserye. “Nakakatawa ‘yun, sobra!
