Kim Atienza finally encounters the rare butanding or whale shark in the waters of Donsol, Sorsogon this Sunday (Apr 10) in the second part of the special third anniversary offering of multi-awarded educational program “Matanglawin.”Kuya Kim and his team were lucky that the butanding, which is the biggest fish in the world, is in the mood to show itself even in front of the camera.
The moment the Trivia King saw its fins at pop in the surface, he immediately grabbed the opportunity and jumped into the sea.
“It was the giant fish itself that approached us. This is a sea creature that the Philippines can be truly proud off,” he said.
What Kuya Kim saw is only one of the thousand butandings still existing in the world and Donsol is very lucky that more that 300 of can be found in its territory.
