“Pinoy Dream Academy” first Grand Star Dreamer Yeng Constantino has admitted that guys sometimes serve as inspiration for the love songs she writes.“Siyempre hindi ko maide-deny na wala akong nararamdaman. May mga crush-crush talaga, may mga hinahangaan akong lalaki,” she divulged in an interview by push.com.ph dated March 23, held after the recently concluded MYX Music Awards.
“May mga ganon siyempre, na kapag kinaibigan ka... mas gusto mo siyempre 'yung nag-start sa friendship. Tsaka mo sasabihin na, ‘Uy ok ‘to ah, mabait.’ I-che-check mo na 'yung standards mo kung pasok... at kung hindi naman, ‘Ay hindi pumasok, sayang,'” she added.
However, the "ASAP Rocks" mainstay said that no one is courting her at the moment.
“Siguro hindi seasonal, parang mangga lang ‘yan e,” she quipped.
Not bothered having a seemingly quiet love life, Yeng said, “Lahat ng ginagawa ko ngayon for God, for His glory, next is my family and then my supporters. Gusto ko lang maging best ako kahit saang aspeto ng buhay, lalo na [para] sa Kanya.”
To her, matters of the heart will come in God's time.
“Hindi ako naniniwala na 'yung gusto mo, 'yun ang makakatagpo mo talaga. Kung sinong ilagay ni God sa path ko para makasama sa journey ko is the perfect one for me. Hindi man kailangan sobrang pareho, pero 'yung magko-complement kami sa isa’t isa,” she related.
“Siguro kasi kaya hindi ako naghahanap dahil kumpleto ako, and I think 'yung mga taong kumpleto, sila talaga 'yung ready na magkaroon ng relationship kasi ibig sabihin willing na sila at ready magpakasal,” Yeng added.
More, the signer addressed the rumor that came up last year, romantically linking her with Rivermaya vocalist Jayson Fernandez. Offering an explanation why they did not end up being together, she said, “Anong nangyari sa amin? Siguro hindi lang kami swak. Mabait siya, walang mali e. Pero siguro aside sa personalities, kailangan meron kayong connection.”
According to her, they never even dated, opting to see where their friendship would lead. “As friends may connection kami, pero 'yung aspetong in a [romantic] relationship, wala.”
