ABS-CBN Stars on Panagbenga Festival

The Sabel and Nasaan Ka Elisa? stars went up to the City of Pines for ABS-CBN Regional Network Group’s (RNG) Kapamilya Karavan for the annual Panagbenga Festival.

Flowers in full bloom was the backdrop of the city while thousands of residents and vacationers in Baguio City dressed in their leather jackets, knits, bonnets and boots all trooped to SM The Drive for the best treat of the festival – a rare chance to meet and greet their favorite Kapamilya teleserye stars whom they watch every single week day. Two equally beautiful and talented ladies Jessy Mendiola (Sabel) and Melissa Ricks (Elisa) each went up the stage to serenade some fans who did not hesitate to go up to share the spotlight with them. Diether Ocampo who was under the weather that time proved that he has taken to heart the performer’s principle that “the show must go on”. He sang 2 songs live! He even almost kissed a pretty fan on the lips upon the audience’s prodding. Joseph Marco impressed everyone with his expertise on singing while playing the guitar. Matt Evans charmed the girls with his sweet smile and presence and rendered sweet serenades too.

ABS-CBN Baguio’s local hosts also entertained the crowd: MOR 103.1’s DJ Melissa LaChicka, DJ Bongbastic, DJ Pag-asa, DJ Juan Romantiko , DJ KaPol TsinoElaine Manangan of Naimbag Nga Morning Kapamilya (NMK), MagTVna Atin ‘to!’s Syndi Bolinto, Arabella Hanesh , Jarydel Prado and Kiko Villalba livened up the night that the audience did not want to end.

That was Ara Hanesh‘s last hosting stint as she has resigned temporarily to join the Bb. Pilipinas. She is ABS-CBN Baguio’s homegrown talent who was on board as a Kapamilya for 5 years. She is said to be a crowd favorite and a strong contender for the pagaent.

The morning after the Kapamilya Karavan, as early as 7am around 25 contingents of flower floats went around the city with their unique themes. Stars, dancers, bands and participants of all ages in colorful costumes tried to outdo each other in entertaining the Baguio crowd.

Kapamilya stars sighted aboard the floats were Empress Schuck, AJ Perez and Enchong Dee who had wings on his back tirelessly waved and smiled to the appreciative crowd.

The Kapamilya Karavan’s next stop will be in Davao for “Araw ng Dabaw” on March 16.
