Right after sending off eliminated contestant Joy Siy, host Sharon Cuneta announced that the remaining Bigating Pinoys will be joined by two familiar faces—wild cards Andy and Leigh.
Viewers first met Andy and Leigh during the wild card challenge early in the competition. Destiny and Larry beat them to gain the two remaining slots in the Biggest Loser Camp. Unknown to the Bigating Pinoys, Andy and Leigh proceeded with training and dieting outside to join them eventually in the camp.
This week, Andy and Leigh are set to make their presence felt when they go against Ryan and Angela, the tail-enders in the “Deadly Tons” challenge, in the “Big Challenge.” Here, the two tandems will fight it out in three tasks for an important reward – the right to choose which two “original” bigating Pinoys will go head-to-head with Andy and Leigh in the coming weigh-in.
Andy and Leigh will stay in the camp if they win the weigh-in over the originals’ “chosen two.” But if the originals’ representatives lose more percentage of weight, they get to choose who between Andy and Leigh will go home in the elimination ceremony.
Meanwhile, viewers saw Joy clearly devastated when most of her fellow contestants, the majority coming from the old Red team, chose to save Winwin and voted for her. But the tears are gone now, as she has become upbeat about transforming her life outside the camp.
“I’m determined to continue the discipline I’ve lived by for the past months and continue taking care of my body by training and eating right. I will also include athletic activities like fun runs, marathons, swimming, badminton to my social calendar and lessen going-out for gimiks,” she said.
She added she has already lost 4 lbs. on her own.
The 25-year-old business development officer couldn’t also hide her fondness of Coach Jim Saret, the trainer of the former Blue Team. She said Jim taught her that one can smile and enjoy while training or working out.
“I really admire Coach Jim’s coolness and non-traditional approach in terms of fitness routines. He’s the best,” she shared.
Joy said she was also greatly inspired by the Megastar who showed them humility and willingness to change.
“She taught us that it’s never too late to start going for what you want. And even if you’re really famous, rich and accomplished, health is still the most important thing. She’s the sweetest and is also very sincere as a person.”
As for her bet to win the whole contest, she answered Alan, their leader in the old Blue Team. Alan is on the right path after being named the Biggest Loser of the Week, losing 3.83 percent of his previous weight based on the weigh-in.
Aside from grueling and suspense-thrilled challenges, viewers should also look forward to the “slow dance” between Biggest Loser couples Winwin and Andy, Ryan and Leigh, and Raffy and Hazel. Also find out what reward will be given to Biggest Loser Alan that will make him, and even friend Art, extra emotional.
Catch all these in another life-changing week in “The Biggest Loser Pinoy Edition,” after “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin” on ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida.
