Rayver Cruz confirmed that he will be the leading man of girlfriend Cristine Reyes in the upcoming teleserye Reputasyon. Rayver’s role was first offered to Derek Ramsay who had to decline for personal reasons. The role was next allegedly offered next to Jake Cuenca before Rayver got the part.“Siyempre natuwa ako, happy ako,” related Rayver when he found out that the role went to him. “Hindi na importante sa akin kung pang ilang choice, ang importante sa akin natutuwa ako kasi napili nila ako. Happy ako, nagpapasalamat ako sa opportunity and at least may show na naman. May mapapanood na naman ang tao, meron ulit tayo work.”

He did not deny that he somehow feels pressured because the first two choices for his role are known good actors. “Pero aayusin na lang ang work and trabaho. Maganda talaga ‘yung role,” Rayver assured.
The actor is also glad because lately, he has been given roles which give him the opportunity to prove himself as a serious actor. “Natutuwa lang ako kasi kada show na magkaroon ako, nage-effort ako. Medyo seryoso, unti-unti na akong nakakaalis sa dating ako na bagets, ‘di ba?”
He added that he is glad not just because he will get to work again with his girlfriend (they worked in the Kristine Series) but also as a co-actors. “Kasi nga masarap siya katrabaho, very professional. Sinasabi ko ito hindi dahil sa girlfriend ko siya, masarap talagang katrabaho si AA (Cristine’s nickname). Magaling pang umarte.”
While many showbiz couples resolve not to work on the same projects to preserve their relationship, Rayver thinks that this does not pose any problem on his relationship with Cristine. “Hindi naman kasi ‘pag kami katulad sa Kristine (Series) ‘pag may time [after takes], may time para magkwentuhan, maglambingan. ‘Pag time ng work, work talaga. May time na ‘pag mabibigat ang eksena, hindi naman kami nag-uusap kahit ‘di kinukunan.”
He continued that he and Cristine try to be professional about work and they don’t let their quarrels affect their performances when they act in front of the camera. “Pag nagkakatampuhan ng maliliit na bagay, wala lang ‘yon. Hindi namin dinadala sa work.” He added that his relationship with Cristine continues to grow stronger.
