Sibling rivals in the new ABS-CBN show Good Vibes, Sam Concepcion and Enrique Gil are really good friends, two peas in a pod, similar in more ways than one.
Sam (no relation to Gabby Concepcion), 18 (last Oct. 17, Libra), stands 5’8”; weighs 130 lbs.; and wears medium-sized shirt, medium-sized briefs and size-9.5 shoes.
Sam is a child of theater. His two brothers and a sister are theater actor-singers, and so is their dad, Raymond Concepcion (currently appearing in a Repertory Philippines production). He’s in 11th grade and will take up Music in college.
Winner of the ABS-CBN Little Big Star singing contest (with Charice as third-placer), Sam has been in the business for five years. “But including my work in theater,” said Sam, “almost eight years.”
So far, so good. “I never imagined I would go this far in five years,” added Sam. “I do albums, I act in teleseryes, I get to dance in shows, I do theater — I’m having the best of all worlds! Add to that my doing the front act for Taylor Swift during her concert in Manila.”
Among his other shows: Super Inggo, Walang Kapalit (as the young Piolo Pascual), Boystown and I Love Betty La Fea.
Enrique (no relation to Cherie and Mark Gil), 19 (last March 30, Aries), stands 5’10”; weighs 150 lbs.; and wears small/medium-sized shirt, medium-sized briefs and size-10 shoes. He has mixed blood — Spanish, German and Filipino. School (Information Technology at San Beda College, ParaƱaque City) is put “on hold.”
A member of the 2008 Star Circle 16, Enrique has appeared in two movies (Till My Heartaches End and Pitas) and has done a few soaps (Pieta, Rosalka, etc.) and is now in the Mula sa Puso revival reprising the role played by Diether Ocampo in the original. He’s the second among three children.
