As for her new movie contract, Toni Gonzaga shared that she is just as hopeful as everyone else that one of the movies she will work on this year will be the sequel to her recent hit My Amnesia Girl which was shown last December. “Hindi ko pa ata masasagot ngayon. Tingnan natin. Mahirap pa magbigay ngayon ng confirmation kasi three-picture contract pa lang siya eh, wala pa siyang details kung sino kasama dun sa movies so ang hirap muna i-announce. Mas maganda siguro yung pag nag-shu-shooting na, go. Tsaka na lang yung confirmation,” she said.Toni also shared that she has no problem if a project pairing her with Vic Sotto will finally push through. Although they were set to work together last year, plans for the project didn’t push through and now Vic is currently working on another movie with Bea Alonzo. Toni said she harbors no ill will about the aborted project and is open to working with her former co-host. “Ako naman, I’m always open towards working with anybody. Hindi naman ako may restrictions na meron akong mga ayaw maka-trabaho. Hindi naman ganun. Lahat okay as long as maganda yung proyekto, maganda yung story and ipre-present ng maayos, I’m open to working with anybody,” she said.
Currently working on a new comedy with comedienne Eugene Domingo, Toni refused to compare her working experience with Uge and with Ai-Ai De las Alas whom she was recently in competition with for in the title for Box-Office Queen at the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation. “Magkaiba talaga kasi yung kay Ate Ai, anak niya ako dun eh kaya it’s very different kasi yung kay Ate Uge, magpinsan kami kaya magkaiba talaga. Tsaka yung story ng movie namin before ni Ate Ai, it’s a story about a family, eto naman it’s a story about two people na magpinsan na may pinagdadaanan sa personal nilang buhay,” she said.
Toni also further dismissed further speculation that she and Ai-Ai were not on speaking terms because of their supposed rivalry over the Box-Office queen throne. “Ka-text ko kaya si Ate Ai. Actually umattend ako sa premiere night niya. Lagi ko siyang ka-text. Wala kaming problema ni Ate Ai-Ai. Actually bumo-border na ako, dumadating na ako sa point na maiinis na talaga ako pag pinag-away pa talaga kami kasi huwag gawan ng kulay or issue kasi wala talaga. Tsaka nasagot ko na eh. Nasagot ko na sa The Buzz so I’m really praying na yun na yun, tapos na yun tsaka nagsalita na rin si Ate Ai so iwanan na natin yun,” she said.
Toni said she would rather focus on the blessings she has received this year so far. “Nasa 2011 na ako. Hindi ko na problema yung 2010. Ang linu-look forward ko ngayon is yung three-picture contract ko with Star Cinema and ayoko ng balikan yung mga ganung bagay kasi ayoko na. hindi naman kailangan pag-agawan ang isang bagay na hindi pa tayo sigurado sa lahat so huwag na muna nating pag-usapan. Yun na lang,” she said.
