The home is believed to be every child’s sanctuary, the place where a kid is farthest from harm. But this is not the case for the victims of child abuse. For them, the home is a place of fear, sin, violence and abandonment.Award-winning broadcast journalist Tina Monzon-Palma has long begun her crusade for the innocent children who are suffering from cruelty and neglect. She started as a volunteer for Bantay Bata 163, a hotline and rescue center founded by the ABS-CBN Foundation in 1997 to protect and save kids from abuse.
This Thursday (Abril 7) in “Krusada,” Tina will share the different stories of children rescued by Bantay Bata through the years, some of them she met and helped herself. One of them was beaten up by her parents, one was molested by a friend, another was put in a dog house, while one was left alone to fend for herself.
How are they since they were taken in by Bantay Bata? How does this program help them put their lives back on the right track?
Child abuse is a deed that inflicts pain on a kid worse and deeper than bruises and wounds can. However, they can still be saved as long as they get help immediately.
