Minsan Lang Kita IIbigin Star, Shot Dead

Sexy actor John Apacible, one of the cast members of ABS-CBN’s “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin,” was shot dead in Cainta, Rizal early Sunday, police said.

Cainta police Chief Superintendent Emmanuel Bautista identified the suspect as Apacible’s uncle, Armando Rustia, a 60-year-old seaman.

According to the suspect’s wife, Sarah, her husband only acted in self-defense after Apacible allegedly attacked him.

Sarah said the 2 were drinking around 3 a.m. at their home at Prime Rose Street in Greenland Subdivision when a heated argument ensued.

After the argument, she said her husband went up on the second floor where the victim followed. She said a commotion then ensued that eventually led to the shooting.

After talking to his lawyer, Rustia surrendered to authorities in Antipolo, Rizal. He was turned over to the Cainta Police Station.

Apacible, Enrique Apacible III in real life, rose to fame after appearing in several sexy films. He was also part of “Shake Rattle and Roll 6” that was screened in 1997.

In “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin,” he portrayed Lt. Col. Santiago.
