Actor John Lloyd Cruz is setting his sights on future projects with ABS-CBN's Star Cinema after becoming the undisputed local box office king for 3 years in a row.
In an interview, Cruz said he would like to work with actress-host Anne Curtis in a future project.
"Sana, sana mabigyan kami ng pagkakataon, mabigyan kami ng chance. I'm sure si Anne kapag nakatagpo kami ng script ng material na babagay sa aming dalawa eh sana ay maisip kami ng Star Cinema," he said in an interview during a press conference for "Greenwich's Pizzas and Pasta Supreme Meat Plates."
Cruz made his statement after the "Showtime" host shared her dream of doing a project with the box office king.
Cruz's romantic comedies under Star Cinema have consistently topped the list of highest earning local movies in the past 4 years, according to figures sourced from IMDB and www.boxofficemojo.com.
In 2007, his movie "One More Chance" with then onscreen partner Bea Alonzo earned approximately P161,472,726.41 in local cinemas.
He followed it up with "A Very Special Love" with Sarah Geronimo, which earned P179.57 million at the box office in 2008. Its sequel "You Changed My Life" was an even bigger hit, earning P230.32 million for Star Cinema in 2009.
Last year, Cruz's movie "My Amnesia Girl" with actress-host Toni Gonzaga earned P215 million at the box office. He is set to reunite with Gonzaga in a "Kanto Boys" movie again with Star Cinema.
