Hunk actor Derek Ramsay defended his girlfriend Angelica Panganiban from the nasty tweets of an Azkal fan. "Im not pissed off about the comments made about me," the actor said on "Showbiz News Ngayon," March 3. Ramsay was referring to the exchange of tweets between Angelica and the fan that sprang from the actress' comment that she's sad to learn that Phil Younghusband of Team Azkals has now gone into acting via a cameo in an indie film. Ramsay explained that his girlfriend's tweet was taken out of context. "Ang sinabi lang ni Angel which I completely understand and agree with is hindi niya ina-attack 'yung mga players ng Azkals. What she was just saying is how the team should be focused kasi they have a lot of responsibility right now." The actor believes the Azkals should concentrate more on their football games, more so now that they're up against a good team. "Ang problema ngayon, ang taas ng attention na binibigay sa Azkals. They have a lot of heads looking over their shoulders. The whole country is watching them and so far, they've performed. They have one more task to perform which is to beat Mongolia in Mongolia. Ang sinasabi lang ni Angel, maybe they should be focusing more on that." On March 3, Angelica tweeted this message which sparked various reactions on Tweetverse, "si phil may indie film... Akala ko ba football player sya??? :( lahat na lang artista na :( sad..." An obviously Azkal fan, @anilmorales took a swipe at Derek on Twitter on the same day. "Yung boyfriend mo,na sobrang trying hard magpaka athlete wala namang naiuwing kahit ano." On the same night, Phil Younghusband gave his reaction on "Bandila" regarding Panganiban's tweet. "I don't think Angelica realizes that indie film is not me acting," the football player explained. "It's not me getting into acting or being an artista. It's about football and it's about promoting football. Maybe she just misunderstood it."
