After two years of being away from the limelight, Dawn Zulueta said that she’s happy to be back in ABS-CBN via Mula Sa Puso where she plays the iconic underdog, Magda. It was a role that she could never turn down as it reunites her with fellow veteran stars Ariel Rivera and Eula Valdez. “I actually have a two-year contract with ABS-CBN this time. In all the years na nasa showbiz ako, I’ve never really been under contract with one network kaya nakakagawa ako ng project with all the other networks. Pero mas marami akong nagawang teleserye sa ABS-CBN. And kami ni Ariel may nagawa kaming teleserye with another network. Kaya masaya ako nung binigay yung role na Magda sa akin and nalaman ko na ka-opposite ko si Ariel e masarap siya talaga katrabaho,” said the lovely actress during the press con of Mula Sa Puso last March 24.
Compared to other networks, Dawn confessed that she’s more impressed with the quality of production in ABS-CBN. “The question is, how do I feel na nasa Kapamilya network ako, e wonderful, because marami akong nagawang projects dito at nakita ko kung paano mag-grow ang network na ito. Ang masasabi ko lang, siguro mababaw sa ibang tao, pero lahat ng lumalabas sa kapamilya network [na shows] magaganda technically, mas high tech sila. Ang feeling ko lahat ng stars dito nagre-register ng mas maganda sa mga television sets, so masaya,” she admitted, much to the surprise of the local press.
Dawn was quick to clarify, however, that she didn’t mean any harm by stating such an opinion about the competing networks. “Hindi wala, huwag niyo kulayan please. Ang sinabi ko lang, if you compare, and I do, makikita niyo naman ang brilyo e ‘di ba? Ang brilyo kapag nanood ka, iba ang register sa ABS-CBN, yun ang napansin ko. Siyempre it’s always good to be part of the network na alam mo na ang facilities were improved, they have high tech cameras, so mas na-appreciate naming mga artista kasi technical kami e. I’m just stating that as an individual. That opinion may differ with other people, but that’s not to say na may galit ako sa GMA, hindi ganon. This industry naman, there are no permanent e, so hindi mo pwedeng sabihin forever nandito ka.”
On a different note, Push.com.ph also asked Dawn about her impression of Gerald Anderson and Sarah Geronimo whom she was able to work with in the movie Catch Me...I’m In Love. “I only have compliments for the two children. I must say that I’m very impressed with both Gerald and Sarah. They’re both very professional and hardworking, hindi ako at all nahirapan. Even the young stars in Mula Sa Puso, natutuwa ako kasi ang gagaling nila. Parang it’s obvious to me that yung training na ginagawa dito sa Kapamilya network, sa Star Magic, magaling ang training nila sa baguhan. Kasi nakikita ko habang nagtratrabaho kami they come prepared, they know their lines, fresh ang minds nila, so that’s good kasi they’d really go far in the biz if they continue such good working habits.”
