Bea Alonzo Proud of the Younger Generation of Dramatic Actresses

Bea Alonzo said she doesn’t have any plans for the summer because her work schedule has been filled up until July of this year. But the Fil-Brit actress wasn’t complaining because she already has her hands full with choice projects like Guns & Roses, her new series with Robin Padilla and a still untitled comedy flick with Vic Sotto. “Walang trips. Ang plano lang kasi is meron akong tour so sa summer nasa tour kami. Tapos meron ako right after kasi gagawa na ako ng pelikula with Angel Locsin. So talagang ngayon talagang planado na yung hanggang middle of the year ko. So wala pa talaga akong plano para sa sarili ko. Puro trabaho muna,” she shared during her launch as Lactacyd’s newest endorser last March 10 at Annabel’s Restaurant in Quezon City.

The actress admitted she is happy with all the blessings that have come her way ever since the year began. “Alam niyo, smooth sailing lahat ngayon. Lahat from yung ginagawa ko na series hanggang sa pelikula, everything’s doing well. Nakakatakot na nga eh, kasi lahat parang pausbong ngayon sa buhay ko. Sana wala ng maiba, ganyan na lang forever,” she laughed.

Since her dramatic debut in popular TV series Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay in 2003, Bea’s popularity has steadily grown from being just another pretty face in showbiz to being one of the country’s most talented dramatic actresses, not to mention one of the top celebrities with a strong fan base. But the 23-year-old actress admitted she is impressed with the current crop of young actresses like Erich Gonzales and Maja Salvador who are also doing well in drama. “Pinanunuod ko sila. I’m proud of them because they’re part of Star Magic and natutuwa akong napapanuod ko kung gaano sila kaseryoso sa ginagawa nila, kung gaano sila ka-dedicated. Nakikita ko yung sarili ko sa kanila when I was their age, she shared.

Bea also imparted her own words of wisdom to the younger batch of actresses that they can use in order to achieve their own staying power in showbiz. “Siyempre dapat laging humble pa rin sila. Dapat hindi nila binibitawan kung saan sila nanggaling and they should always learn how to thank those people na sumusuporta sa kanila. Kahit hindi niyo sila kilala or kilala niyo sila. Yung mga fans ninyo na talagang solid, especially yung mga TFC subscribers na talagang malayo, hindi nila kami nari-reach pero through their own ways, pinaparating nila yung pagsuporta nila sa amin like yung blocked screenings. And every time we go out of the country ganun sila ka-warm. So yun, yun yung ma-a-advise ko, huwag nila kakalimutan yung mga taong yun dahil sila naman yung dahilan kung bakit ka nandiyan din kayo. And always reach for your goals. Huwag kang kaagad gi-give up, huwag masyado papa-apekto dun sa mga intriga sa showbiz kasi it’s normal,” she said.
