Jaclyn Jose Confirms Pregnancy of Daughter Andi Eigenmann

Andi Eigenmann, who rose to fame by playing the lead star in the now defunct hit ABS-CBN teleserye “Agua Bendita,” is 4 months pregnant, the young actress’ mother confirmed on Wednesday.

An emotional veteran actress Jaclyn Jose faced ABS-CBN News in an exclusive interview to confirm reports that her 21-year-old daughter is expecting her first child.

ABS-CBN News caught up with Jose while taping for a “Maalaala Mo Kaya” episode in Antipolo.

“I just want to tell everyone that, yes, it's true, my daughter is pregnant,” Jose said. “Hindi madali pero kailangan kong tanggapin kasi anak ko siya at mahal ko siya. Wala namang ibang tutulong sa kanya kundi ako at ang kanyang pamilya.”

She said Eigenmann is exactly 18 weeks and 2 days pregnant, and she is doing okay. “I’m taking care of her, akong bahala sa kanya.”

Jose said the father of Eigenmann’s child is a former boyfriend who allegedly abandoned her daughter when he found out about the baby. He said the guy is the young actress’ first sweetheart.

“Wala na sila noon. Iniwanan sila noong nabuntis siya. I’m okay with that. I don’t want to talk about him anymore. I don’t have business with him. I feel angry every time I think of him but that's over na,” she said.

Eigenmann used to go out with Albie Casiño of “Mara Clara.” The 2 did not part ways amicably, with Casiño accusing her of cheating on him.

She is now being romantically linked to Jake Ejercito, son of former President Joseph Estrada and Laarni Enriquez.

“Siyempre, bilang ina, nararamdaman mo na until she finally told me everything,” she said.

Jose admitted that she got hurt when she learned about Eigenmann’s condition. She said she went straight to church after the young star’s confession.

“Una siyempre, ang una mong pupuntahan simbahan. Mananalangin ka. Ibigay mo na lang sa Kanya lahat. Sabihin mo, ‘Ama ikaw na ang bahala. Hindi ko kaya ito. Kung ano man ang desisyon mo, tatanggapin ko ito.’ Ang binigay niyang desisyon siyempre kailangan kong tanggapin,” she said.

She added: ‘Yong galit, ayoko nang i-entertain kasi nandiyan na. Acceptance na lang ‘yong sa akin… Andi is my priority, si Andi lang at ang baby. Silang dalawa lang ang concern ko. Wala na akong concern sa ibang may kinalaman.”

She said she is proud of her daughter for deciding to keep the baby. She said their family fully supports Eigenmann’s decision.

“Noong una, nabigla din siya. After a while, she decided to keep the baby at naging proud naman ako sa anak ko because, at her age, for her to decide on things like that… okay na sa akin ‘yon. I’m proud of her, of what she did, of her decision of keeping the baby,” she said.

“Tanggap lahat ng pamilya ko. Wala namang problema. Mahal namin ‘yan, mahal ng lahat ng pamilya ko si Andi. Alam niya yan, nandito kami behind her all the way,” she added.

When asked to give a message to the guy and his family, the veteran actress said: “Wala na akong hinihiling sa kanila, ni ayoko silang makita. Ayos na kami. Leave us alone. We’re okay.”

She also appealed to the public not to judge the young actress, one of the lead stars of “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.”

“Alam ko may pagkakamaling nagawa ‘yong anak ko. Hindi ko sinasabing tama, ang puwede ko na lang sabihin huwag na lang husgahan. Bigyan na lang siya ng pagkakataon tutal buhay naman yan… humihingi ako ng pang-unawa sa audience, sa fans ni Andi,” she said.

“Pagkakamali in the sense hindi pa sapat ang panahon. Definitely, the baby is a blessing," she added.

She also said she hopes Eigenmann will be given another chance in terms of her career in show business.

Eigenmann, assured Jose, will finish taping “Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin.”
