Piolo Pascual said that he did not get to see his son Iñigo—who is based in the US—when he recently did his concert tour in many areas in the US. However, he quickly added that his son might come over to the Philippines for his school break. “I didn’t get to see him because I was mostly in New York, nag-travel ako for New York, for LA but mostly for training. So hindi ako nagkaroon ng chance na makita ‘yung bata pero hopefully this vacation makauwi siya dito.”Although many have commented that Piolo’s teenage son has the looks and musical talents to get into showbiz, Piolo said that he does not want his son to enter showbiz for now. “Ayoko talaga, ayoko talaga siyang mag-artista, bahala na. If he wants to pursue acting… he’s musically inclined. Natutuwa ako bilang andami niyang alam na instrumento. Wala nga akong alam na tutugtugin kahit na ano pero siya, he plays the piano, he plays the guitar, he sings, he dances. He’s really talented, I’m really excited for him. Pero tapusin na muna niya ang pag-aaral, ‘yun naman ang deal namin.”
He continued that he wants his son to finish his studies first before he enters showbiz because he wants him to have a fallback if ever showbiz does not work out for him. “Hindi naman madaling trabaho ang showbiz, eh,” Piolo pointed out. “So sana lang just make sure he has a fallback, kasi ‘pag hindi mo natapos ang pag-aaral mo, nakakatakot ‘yon, eh. Nakakatakot naman kung wala kang babalikan, education lang ang dadalhin mo sa pagtanda mo.”
Piolo also talked about his first-ever solo concert tour. He shared that he did six concerts for three weeks in different places, like Connecticut, Portland, Florida, and other less-populated places with Filipino communities. “Ako I always look forward to going to the US performing for our TFC (The Filipino Channel) families, TFC kapamilyas because iba rin ‘yung response nila. Masarap silang makasama.”
He explained that he feels that it is about time to go solo after doing concerts with fellow celebrities for a decade. “I just felt that I had to do my own. Feeling ko I think my audience deserves it. Parang they would want to hear more songs and I’ve been touring with Star Magic for 10 years; five years with The Hunks and I toured five years with the Heartthrobs. So I think it’s about time that I do my own.”
