Miss Earth 2011, the 11th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, is scheduled to be held on November 19, 2011 at the exotic city of Pattaya in Thailand (165 km. southeast of Bangkok, around 2 hours travel by car or bus). This is the second consecutive year that the Miss Earth pageant is being held outside the Philippines. Last year’s festivities was held in Nha Trang, Vietnam.
Next year (2012), the pageant will return in Vietnam. According to reports, the Southeast Asian nation will continue hosting the pageant in the even-numbered years from 2012 until 2020. The other years during the period will be held in other Asian countries such as Thailand for this year, Indonesia, Cambodia, Japan, and Bangladesh. The pageant is also expected to be held in as far as the the United States (preferably in Miami) in the future.
Nicole Faria of India, the second winner from Asia, will crown her successor at the end of almost a month-long event which is filled not only with pageant activities but also environmental programs that it usually advocates.
