Police are planning to file charges against Matt Evans in connection with a vehicular accident in Quezon City last Friday wherein the young actor’s vehicle rammed a lamp post.SPO1 Ricardo Escorpreso told “The Buzz” that Evans will be charged with reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property and failure to report the incident to the authorities within 24 hours.
"Sa ngayon lumalabas na siya ay kakasuhan ng reckless imprudence resulting in damage to property… ‘yong hindi niya pag-report, kailangan mag-report siya within 24 hours para hindi siya makasuhan ng failure to report,” Escorpreso said.
Evans was driving his Toyota Innova SUV in Project 4 when his car rammed a Meralco post. The actor swerved to avoid hitting a woman crossing the road, said Thess Gubi, Star Magic's PR head.
According to reports, Evans was with a non-showbiz girl and was drunk when the accident occurred. He denied the allegations.
“Yong sinasabing nakainom, ‘yong impact kasi nahilo ako. Kung di nila ako inalalayan baka bumagsak ako sa kalsada,” he said.
Evans said he went straight to a hospital to seek treatment.
