After a successful run in the talent search show Star Power, Akiko Solon, Monica Sacay, and Krissel Valdez lend their voices to Hero TV’s newest anime show Lovely Idol. The anime, which was adapted from a popular series of illustrated short stories in Japan, follows the adventures of a group of young aspiring idol singers who must prove their worth in order to be launched as the next batch of talents in the music industry. The story isn’t a far cry from the Star Power girls’ own experience in real life. Kung kaminagwo-workshop dati sa Star Power, nagwo-workshop din ang Love Dolls (the name of their characters’ group) para makamit yung mga pangarap nila na maging sikat at makapag-perform,” Krissel told Push.com.ph during their second dubbing session last May 2 at the ABS-CBN studios.
Karylle also joins them as the lead voice of the pop-idol group. The singer, dubbed as the Kapamilya’s Enchanting Diva, said she feels honored to be one of the voices behind Lovely Idol. “I’ve always dreamed of being a voice in a cartoon,” she said. The Star Power girls also admit they can’t wait to work closer with Karylle. So we’re looking forward to this.
Krissel said she looks forward to getting to know Karylle more during their future dubbing sessions together.
