Aga Muhlach didn’t mind underacting for some scenes in In The Name Of Love not only because it’s required for his role, but also to highlight a co-star’s dramatic performance. Moviegoers have said that Aga, Angel Locsin, and Jake Cuenca have showcased something new through their unforgettable characters. “Sinabihan ko sila na I want them to shine. It’s their time to shine, then they should shine,” said Aga in an interview with Push.com.ph and other ABS-CBN reporters.Aga was very happy with the positive feedback that In The Name Of Love has been getting from moviegoers and film critics alike. In fact, the dashing actor even considered it the best farewell gift from Star Cinema now that he has officially moved to a different network. “Paalis na ako ng ABS-CBN, ito ang huling pelikula, trabaho ko sa kanila. Gagawa pa din ako, sana [in the future with them]. Pero in the meantime, you know, napakagandang regalo nito (In The Name Of Love) para sa akin. Kaya we made sure na maganda talaga ito.” But Star Cinema Head Malou Santos, who heard Aga’s interview, said that this movie won’t be Aga’s last film with ABS-CBN’s production outfit.
Aga said that he took it a good sign when his wife Charlene Gonzales was moved to tears when she saw the rushes of the film because he trusts her taste when it comes to good movies. “Well, si Charlene, she's a good gauge, you know. Kapag umiyak 'yan, kapag affected 'yan sa istorya, [ibig sabihin] maganda yung pelikula. Nung post-production pa lang, pinanood niya yung pelikula, umiyak na siya. Tapos [nung nanood siya sa] premiere, umiiyak pa din siya,” he happily exclaimed.
Aga also commented on the fact that his former leading lady Lea Salonga has been all praises for his performance in the movie. He couldn’t help but laugh though when told that Lea still admires his heartthrob looks until now. “Kami ni Lea, I'm just waiting for the chance na makagawa kami ng reunion movie. Kaya nga sinama ko si Lea [sa premiere night para ma-excite din siya na matuloy na yung project namin]. Gagawa kami ng movie talaga. Sana maulit muli—ang pelikula namin,” he beamed.
