Kim Tae-Hee on My Princess

Actress Kim Tae Hee has often taken on roles as either serious or deadly characters. Her newest project - MBC’s upcoming drama, “My Princess” – gave her opportunity to explore something new. The actress recently shared her thoughts on the change of roles, and what it took for her to take it on.

She expressed, “I decided to take the role because I felt that ‘Lee Seol‘ was the opposite of my own personality. She’s very cute and is honest in expressing her true emotions. She’s such a lovely person and I’m jealous of that.”

‘Lee Seol’ is the princess-to-be of the drama, who lives life as a stingy college student that work various part-time jobs to support herself and pay for her tuition. Despite being a strong-headed girl, she’s also positive and honest.

Kim Tae Hee continued, “When I first read the script, I was worried about whether Lee Seol’s bright and lovely personality would match with mine. I decided to take the challenge after thinking that there had to be an ‘Lee Seol’ inside of me somewhere. For 2-3 months, I watched at least 3-4 romantic comedies, dramas, and movies and practiced my acting. I’ll be showing off a unique ‘Lee Seol’-like character that cannot be seen in any other romantic comedies.”

“My Princess” also allowed her to work for the first time with Song Seung Hun. Song Seung Hun stars as Kim Tae Hee’s love interest, the sole heir to the one of the best corporations in Korea. Regarding the actor, she revealed, “He’s always considerate of others and so very gentle. I’m able to act naturally, without any other pressure.”
