Guns and Roses will be Diether Ocampo‘s first action series. He will play the role of Marcus Aguilar, the villain who will make the life of Robin Padilla‘s character, miserable.But Diether’s character is not really a typical evil person that we usually see for a villain. His role, in what Push.com has described, is a troubled man who is torn between his quest to discover the mystery between his mentor’s disappearance and unrequited feelings for the one woman he truly loves.
According to an interview during the Guns and Roses pictorial, Diether says that he enjoys his character’s many layers because it is a new kind of acting challenge for him.
“Yung character ni Marcus is sobrang demanding. Ang hirap nyang gampanan dahil marami siyang pinagdadaanan and it’s too complex which I like so much dahil it’s something that I haven’t done before. Meron siyang pinaglalaban aside from yung pagmamahal niya dun sa character ni Bea (Alonzo). He was trying to find justice para sa kanyang father figure and mentor. He was trying to unfold kung bakit kailangan mabura sa mundo yung mentor niya. Marami siyang mga nadi-discover about himself kasi yung mga tao sa paligid niya mismo yung nag-ko-conceal nung mga nangyari sa nakaraan and there area lot of things that parang he’s trying to deny sa sarili niya kasi parang hindi niya matanggap na ganito pala talaga yung mundo na ginagalawan niya,” he said.
“That’s why I really like the character dahil very challenging. He’s very organized, may pagka-O.C. siya so he’s trying to control himself and hindi niya rin mapigilan yung emotion niya bilang tao. Kahit sino namang may pinagdadaanan, the more mong pigilan, lalong umaalma di ba? So parang ganun yung journey ni Marcus. Yung kinikimkim niya na pagmamahal na nararamdaman niya lang sa isang taong hindi naman siya ang gusto. Kasi yung character ni Bea na si Rain ay nahuhumaling kay Abel which is played by Robin. Maganda yung dynamics nung tatlong characters dahil mature na yung mga roles naming dito. Very solid yung bawat character. Although the challenge there is to be able to convey it in such a way na hindi ganun ka-complicated para maintindihan kaagad ng viewers,” he added.
“Guns and Roses” also stars Robin Padilla, Bea Alonzo, Empress and Ejay Falcon. Directed by Trina Dayrit and Rechie del Carmen, the action-teleserye hits Primetime Bida on June 6, 2011.
